Wewelsburg

Above the Alme valley rises Wewelsburg, a Renaissance castle on a triangular plan, built between 1603 and 1609. Today it houses the Historical Museum of the Prince Bishopric of Paderborn, along with a memorial exhibition on 1933 to 1945, when the SS used and partly remodelled the castle. A youth hostel shares the building.
