Wallraf-Richartz-Museum & Fondation Corboud

Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen

This painting gallery near Cologne's town hall covers art from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century. Its strength is medieval painting, especially the Cologne school, alongside works from the 16th to 19th centuries. The Fondation Corboud adds a large body of Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist art. The 2001 building stands on the site of a Roman temple of Mars, and the museum also keeps a graphic collection of more than 75,000 sheets.
