Römisch-Germanisches Museum

Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen

The museum stands above the remains of a Roman town house in the heart of Cologne. Its Dionysus mosaic still lies where it was laid, and can be seen from Roncalliplatz, along with a stretch of the Roman harbour road. The finds trace how the city of the Ubii grew into a centre of the province of Lower Germany. The museum also holds a large collection of Roman glass from graves.
