Uhrenmuseum Bad Iburg

Bad Iburg, Niedersachsen

Around 800 working timepieces trace more than three centuries of timekeeping here, from a 17th-century tower clock to a modern radio-controlled clock. The museum in an 1820 building shows 17 tower clocks, about a hundred Black Forest clocks, plus pocket watches and skeleton clocks. The oldest piece is a French sundial from 1470. A curiosity is an 1800 French noon-cannon sundial that woke people from their midday rest with a loud bang.
