Schulmuseum – Werkstatt für Schulgeschichte Leipzig

Leipzig, Sachsen

How were children taught in Leipzig, from the Middle Ages to today? This museum gathers material on the city's school and education history from 1212 onwards, shown in permanent exhibitions on the second and third floors. It occupies a listed building on the Goerdelerring that once served the East German state security service, which is why it pays particular attention to schooling and upbringing under 20th-century dictatorships.
