Museum Lyonel Feininger

Quedlinburg, Sachsen-Anhalt

This is the only museum devoted entirely to Lyonel Feininger. It shows the Bauhaus artist's prints, etchings, lithographs and woodcuts, saved from destruction by the Nazis by Hermann Klumpp, a Quedlinburg native and former Bauhaus student. The works follow Feininger's creative periods in Germany. A 1997 extension offers a modern contrast to the medieval old town around it.
