Domschatz Quedlinburg

Quedlinburg, Sachsen-Anhalt

The cathedral treasure of Quedlinburg is still kept where it has always been, inside the Stiftskirche. Its 63 pieces come from the former convent for noblewomen, many of them gifts from the Ottonian rulers. They are shown in two rooms: the Zither, built into the north transept around 1160, and a treasury fitted out in 1972 on the south side. Fragments of the Quedlinburg knotted carpet are displayed in the former convent building.
