Mühlenmuseum Stiftsmühle Aurich von 1858

Aurich, Niedersachsen

Rising almost 30 metres above Aurich, the Stiftsmühle is described as the tallest historic windmill in Germany that visitors can go inside, and it is a landmark seen from afar. The mill dates from 1858, and its five-storey base is built from more than 200,000 bricks. It works as a specialist mill museum, and the gallery gives a view across the town. It sits on the Auricher Mühlentour, a 32-kilometre cycle route past all five of the town's historic mills.
