Deutsches Versicherungsmuseum Ernst Wilhelm Arnoldi

Gotha, Thüringen

This museum in Gotha tells the story of insurance. It occupies the upper floor of the former headquarters of the Gothaer Lebensversicherungsbank, used from 1894 to 1946 and styled after the early Italian Renaissance. The historicist boardroom now serves as an exhibition room. In the stairwell, look for three Carrara marble reliefs by Adolf Lehnert showing stages of human life.
