Tobiashammer

Ohrdruf, Thüringen

A large water-powered forge on the River Ohra, with origins going back to 1482. It made scythes, sickles and ploughshares, later copper goods such as washtubs and kettle drums, hammered from a single piece under the tilt hammer. Since 1983 the works have been an industrial monument and museum.
