Heimatmuseum Schloss Tenneberg

Housed in Tenneberg Castle above Waltershausen, this regional museum covers the town's history and crafts, folk life and traditional costume. Its main theme is the doll industry: from 1815 Waltershausen became a centre of German doll making. You will see many original dolls in papier-mâché, wood, celluloid and PVC, along with doll furniture, toys and the sequence of production techniques up to the present.
