Wiener Rettungsmuseum
Wien, Wien
The story of Vienna's professional ambulance service, born as a volunteer body after the Ringtheater fire of 1881, is told in the listed Hernals ambulance station. About 300 exhibits, among them old ventilators, defibrillators and communication equipment, fill three halls. Three ambulances stand in the courtyard, the oldest an Opel Blitz from 1942.
