Werratalmuseum Gerstungen

Housed in Gerstungen's former palace, this regional museum shows how people worked and lived in the area: tools, guild chests and craft books from the 17th century, plus everyday farm and workshop items. Highlights include the Werra ceramics, with potters' tools and humorous sayings on dishes, and the textile section running from flax processing to a large hand loom. A geological department explains the mineral resources of the area.
