Warleberger Hof

Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein

Kiel's city museum occupies a brick mansion begun in 1616 on Dänische Straße, the last surviving noble town palace in the city. The sandstone portal, painted stucco ceilings and wall paintings on the ground floor date from a rebuild after 1765. In the cellar, a vaulted room with the hearth of the original kitchen still stands. The house is as much a sight as the museum inside it.
