Stadtgeschichtliches Museum

Jülich, Nordrhein-Westfalen

A medieval town gate, the Hexenturm, houses Jülich's museum of local history. It once held the district court and its prison before being converted into a museum, which opened in 1902 with about 400 items. The collection includes pictures, engravings, archaeological finds, coins, glass and weapons from the town's past. The tower was badly damaged in the Second World War.
