Schleusenpark Waltrop

Four locks from more than a century of canal building stand close together here, showing how engineering kept pace with ever larger ships. A park with connecting paths lets you visit every structure, and the three historic ones are listed monuments. One part holds a museum, another an exhibition hall on inland shipping on the west German canal network, and the big lock is still in use.
