Schiffermuseum Zehdenick

Zehdenick, Brandenburg

A working freight barge from 1916 lies in Zehdenick harbour, close to the lock and the Elisabethmühle. The Carola is 42.5 metres long and just over five metres wide, built to fit the small locks of the Brandenburg and Mecklenburg waterways. In its hold, an exhibition tells the story of shipping on the Havel. The vessel still sails and sometimes travels to other waterways to present the exhibition and the town.
