Gedenkstätte und Museum Sachsenhausen

Oranienburg, Brandenburg

On the grounds of the former Sachsenhausen concentration camp in Oranienburg, north of Berlin, history is told at the authentic places where it happened. Thirteen exhibitions are spread across the site, each linking its location to a wider theme. They cover the early Oranienburg camp, aspects of Sachsenhausen itself, the Soviet special camp and the history of the memorial. It works both as a place of remembrance and as a museum of contemporary history.
