Phyletisches Museum

Jena, Thüringen

Ernst Haeckel founded this museum to explain the evolution of life to the public. The permanent display includes an evolution hall with pigeon breeds and cichlids, followed by rooms tracing the family tree of multicellular animals, humans included. You will see skeletons, stuffed animals and fossils, in an Art Nouveau building from 1907 about 150 metres from the town centre.
