Göhre

Jena, Thüringen

Jena's city museum stands on the north side of the market square, in a building whose foundations date from the 13th century. It takes its name from Paul Göhre, who bought the house in 1893 and later added a neo-Gothic building with a passage to the square. The museum has been here since 1988, and a timeline in the stairwell leads up through its four exhibition levels.
