Rocks and minerals from Thuringia and around the world fill the mineralogical collection of Jena University. It grew out of a cabinet of natural curiosities and traces its roots to 1779. Visitors find a systematic collection, a small cabinet for exhibitions and an outdoor rock garden. On Sundays you can have a piece you found yourself examined and identified under the microscope.
