Ottoneum

Kassel, Hessen

The Ottoneum in central Kassel was built between 1603 and 1606 as the first permanent theatre building in Germany. It later housed the landgraves' art and natural history collection, and today it is a natural history museum. It stands on Steinweg, near Friedrichsplatz and next to the state theatre.
