Hessisches Landesmuseum
Kassel, Hessen
Just on the edge of Kassel's city centre at Brüder-Grimm-Platz, this museum spreads over three floors with more than 6000 pieces from prehistory and early history, applied arts and folk culture. The German Wallpaper Museum is housed here too. The building, designed by Theodor Fischer and opened in 1913, draws on Hessian late Renaissance architecture and is crowned by a prominent central tower.
