Oderlandmuseum

Bad Freienwalde (Oder), Brandenburg

The museum occupies the Freihaus von Loeben, a late Baroque half-timbered house of 1775 opposite the town hall and St Nicholas church. It presents the history and culture of the Oderland around Bad Freienwalde. Founded in 1889, it is among the oldest museums in Brandenburg. The house itself has a story too: Ernst Haeckel stayed here with his brother in 1860.
