Museum jüdischer Geschichte und Kultur
Aschaffenburg, Bayern
In the former rabbi's house in the old town, this museum traces the history of Aschaffenburg's Jewish community, from the first synagogue mentioned in 1267 to persecution under the Nazis. Many ceremonial objects for the Jewish festivals and holidays are on show. The neighbouring synagogue was burned down in 1938; a plane-tree grove now marks its site.
