Museum Festung Dresden
Dresden, Sachsen
Under the Brühl Terrace, a lift takes you down into the surviving parts of Dresden's fortifications, the casemates. The dark, bunker-like vaults inside the northern city wall contrast sharply with the Baroque splendour above. The museum opened in 1992 and reopened in 2019 after a redesign.
