Museum Carnuntinum

Petronell-Carnuntum, Niederösterreich

Serving as the treasure house of the ancient Roman city of Carnuntum, the museum displays finds from the digs at the legionary camp and the civilian town, and tells of daily life there. The collection's foundations go back to research in Carnuntum in 1852. More than two million finds are kept in storage, making it the largest Roman museum in Austria.
