Münzkabinett
Wien, Wien
Coins and medals from many centuries make up this collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the largest of its kind in Austria. It grew out of the Habsburg imperial collection, whose oldest surviving inventory dates from 1547 and lists almost only Roman coins. The coin cabinets of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol are preserved here too.
