Kurpfälzisches Museum Heidelberg

Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg

Housed in the Palais Morass just off Heidelberg's main pedestrian street, this museum covers the art and history of the city and region. The archaeology section ranges across the Lower Neckar area, with a copy of the Homo heidelbergensis jaw found at Mauer and a life-sized reconstruction of a mithraeum. The paintings run from the 15th to the 20th century, with works by Rogier van der Weyden, Lucas Cranach the Elder and Max Beckmann, alongside thousands of drawings and prints.
