Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle (Saale)

Halle (Saale), Sachsen-Anhalt

The Moritzburg, once the residence of the archbishops, rises at the edge of Halle's old town, and its ruined walls now house an art museum. It shows fine and applied art, with a focus on the modern era. The collection grew out of a municipal museum of art and crafts founded in 1885, and the Moritzburg has been part of it since 1904. A good stop for art in a historic setting.
