Halloren- und Salinemuseum
Halle (Saale), Sachsen-Anhalt
Salt production from brine in Halle reaches back to the Bronze Age. The museum occupies the buildings of the former Royal Prussian saltworks and has a working brine-boiling pan installation, in place since 1969. It also tells of the Hallors, the town's salt workers, and of the geology that brings brine to the surface here.
