Kunsthalle Rostock

Set in the park around the Schwanenteich pond, Rostock's Kunsthalle is a purpose-built gallery from the late 1960s, the only new art museum the GDR ever built. It shows contemporary art, with a focus on artists from the Baltic region. Its own collection gathers what is known as East German Modernism, and a visible storage area lets you see more of the holdings.
