Heimatmuseum Warnemünde

Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

This local-history museum in Rostock's seaside district shows how Warnemünde people once lived and worked. The collection began in 1914, when the fisherman Heinrich Holtfreter urged that old family belongings be saved from being sold off; it started with fishing tools, costume pieces and everyday items. The museum on Alexandrinenstraße has existed since 1933.
