Klosterstollen Barsinghausen
Barsinghausen, Niedersachsen
On the slopes of the Deister, this show mine takes visitors into part of the disused Barsinghausen coal mine. The Klosterstollen tunnel was begun in 1856, and coal was mined here until 1957. Since 1999 visitors can go underground to see what mining in the Deister was like.
