Karl-Pollender-Stadtmuseum

Werne, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Werne's story is told inside a plastered half-timbered house built in 1691 as an official residence. The displays run from prehistory through the town's later history, with the Sim-Jü, the local annual fair, and a silk chasuble from the 13th or 14th century given special attention. A Westphalian parlour shows how people once lived, and a small museum garden lies behind the modern extension. The town archive is housed in the same building.
