Haus der Stadtgeschichte

Kamen, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Between the market square and the station, this local history museum traces Kamen's story in a permanent exhibition running from Roman-Germanic times to the present. The building went up in 1894–96 as a court house and is a well-preserved example of Historicist architecture, protected inside and out. It also houses the city archive and a research library.
