Heinrich-Blickle-Museum

Rosenfeld, Baden-Württemberg

The old Fruchtkasten, a granary in Rosenfeld, holds a private collection of more than 130 cast-iron stove plates, displayed in its ancient stairwell and spanning four centuries. You also learn how they were made: wooden moulds, often carved by well-known artists, were pressed into a sand bed and filled with molten iron, producing whole series of plates. The museum has been open since 1982.
