Atomkeller-Museum

Haigerloch, Baden-Württemberg

In the closing months of the Second World War, a research reactor stood in this rock cellar beneath Haigerloch castle. Today the museum traces the history of German atomic research with a reconstruction of the reactor, two original uranium cubes, models, information boards and a replica of Otto Hahn's bench from the discovery of nuclear fission. The neighbouring oil mill holds a permanent exhibition on Werner Heisenberg.
