Goldbergbaumuseum Goldkronach

Goldkronach, Bayern

The former forester's house of 1740, where Alexander von Humboldt once lived, now presents the gold mining around Goldkronach. Upstairs covers the extraction of gold, silver and minerals such as antimonite, from the Middle Ages into the 20th century, along with the miners' superstitions. The ground floor documents the town's history. An information point on the Goldberg leads on to the visitor mines.
