Minerals and gemstones, meteorites and fossils fill the University of Cologne's GeoMuseum. It is the city's only natural history museum, housed in the lecture hall wing of the geosciences buildings on Zülpicher Straße. Its collections descend from two older museums that were largely destroyed in the Second World War.
