Erzgrube Büchenberg

In the Harz, a former iron ore mine can be visited as a show mine. Mining began in 1936, and from the entrance at Shaft I on the Rothenberg an 8,650-metre cableway carried the ore to Minsleben for the railway. The pit is also checkpoint no. 37 of the Harzer Wandernadel hiking network.
