Herbergsmuseum
Blankenburg, Sachsen-Anhalt
A half-timbered house of 1684 on Bergstraße served from 1884 to 1916 as a hostel for travelling journeyman craftsmen. Today you can follow their life around 1900 through an exhibition and historical collection, and through the rooms as they were: courtyard, stable, wash house, kitchen and lodging room. One room recalls the house's later use as a memorial to Wilhelm Pieck, who lived here as a journeyman carpenter.
