Domherrenhaus. Historisches Museum Verden
Verden (Aller), Niedersachsen
A Baroque canon's house from 1708 near Verden Cathedral holds this local history museum. Across about 900 square metres, the displays lead through more than 1,000 years of the town and its region, with dioramas, a hunting scene and a Stone Age tent. The star piece is the Lehringen lance, a Neanderthal-era spear found together with remains of the forest elephant it was used to hunt.
