Cohn-Scheune

Rotenburg, Niedersachsen

A small half-timbered building of around 1834, opposite the town church, tells of Jewish life in Rotenburg and the Elbe-Weser region. Despite its name it was never a barn but the textile workshop of the Jewish merchant family Cohn. It was taken down in 2005 and rebuilt on its present site by 2010. Today it houses a museum of cultural history on the region's Jewish past.
