Deutsches Apotheken-Museum

Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg

Up in Heidelberg Castle, this museum follows the history of the pharmacy and of medicines from antiquity to the 21st century, with objects from across the German-speaking world. The core came from a large private collection on pharmacy history, later joined by gifts from pharmacists, including a collection of majolica. Founded in 1937 in Munich, it moved on to Bamberg after the war and has been in the castle since 1957.
