Deutsch-Deutsches Museum Mödlareuth

Mödlareuth was once split down the middle by the inner-German border, and the museum stands right on that line. Indoor displays explain how the border worked and tell of separated families and of people who tried to flee across it. A hall holds vehicles used by border authorities from both sides. Outside, a real stretch of the border survives, with the original fortifications and other barriers from different building phases.
