Bunkermuseum Hagen

Hagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen

In the lower level of a high-rise air-raid bunker, this private museum tells the story of the bombing of Hagen. The city was a rail hub and armaments town, and about 72 percent of it was destroyed by 1945. The bunker served as a shelter and later as a sleeping bunker, where families could rent tiny chambers of about 2 by 3 metres.
