Bayerisches Nationalmuseum

München, Bayern

Sculpture and decorative arts from Bavaria and Europe fill some 13,000 square metres of this museum on Prinzregentenstraße. A historical tour runs from the early Middle Ages to the early twentieth century, while the folk-art department downstairs holds the renowned nativity scene collection. Gabriel von Seidl's building, opened in 1900, blends Bavarian regional style with Renaissance and Baroque touches.
