Archäologische Staatssammlung
München, Bayern
Bavaria's central museum of prehistory and early history runs from the Old Stone Age through the Celtic and Roman periods to the early Middle Ages. About 15,000 objects are on show, including everyday items, grave goods and treasure hoards from southern Germany, though only a small part of the holdings is displayed. A separate section on the Mediterranean and the Orient shows Bavaria's links to those cultures.
