Zollmuseum Friedrichs

Right on the Dutch border, this museum in a former customs station built in 1933 traces the history of customs duties: where they came from, what they raised and how they protected local trade. Some 3,000 items fill 22 rooms of the red-brick building, including banned souvenirs and a section on illicit distilling. The house once served as offices and living quarters for the customs officers.
